Stella Is Right To Be Suspicious

When choosing your pony at Griffith Park, I would hesitate about getting on this particular one: Today I took Matilda & Porter to ride the ponies after having promised it last week. It was all going fine until Porter's ride decided to step out of the "slow pony" lane and take off on his own course, weaving around in the outer lanes of the ring. As the handlers noticed and started walking over to redirect him on course, the pony picked up the pace and shook poor Porter all over the place. Porter was not pleased and cried quite a bit until the pony could be chased down and walked over the the side. In retrospect it is quite funny, but in the moment I was slightly worried about his physical well-being and feeling really awful for my crying boy.

At dinner, Matilda was trying to describe the event to Tim. She cracked me up by starting out with, "Well, Porter's pony ride was a little bit tricky." Porter described it to his daddy by just saying, "Bump!"
