Beach Trip (with plenty of room for beached whale jokes)

We went to Malibu yesterday to enjoy the gorgeous weather we have been having & squeeze in a overdue trip to Duke's. The waiter even sprang some hospital-bags-in-the-car type jokes on us so it felt like a good pre-baby outing. Lunch was great, as always there, although Tim & I both got way less of our entrees than we expected with Matilda's big appetite. She decided she wasn't interested in the kids menu fish & chips and preferred to eat Tim's sea bass & my ono in caper sauce. She's no dummy.

We had a good time playing at the beach after lunch. Both falling asleep last night, and first thing this morning Matilda stated that we were going back to Malibu today. We don't go out there more because it seems like such a trek, but M loves it so much. We really need to make more of an effort.

We found a big kelp strand, re-purposed as a jump rope.
